Allison Barbato was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and her fathers job as a petroleum engineer led her to grow up overseas in Indonesia, Brazil and Egypt. While both her brothers went on to pursue degrees in petroleum engineering, Allison completed her BS in Geology in 2018 at LSU and will soon complete her PhD in Geology at LSU with a focus in source rock geochemistry and biostratigraphy. Throughout graduate school, Allison was president of the AAPG Student Chapter and kept the chapter active and thriving through the COVID-19 pandemic. She increased enrollment over 300%, and has maintained enrollment to this day. Allison will begin working with Hess in Houston, TX during the fall of 2023.
