Justin is a founding partner of JAI Energy LLC bringing his extensive experience raising capital and working in the oil and gas business to the Bitcoin mining industry.

Prior to starting JAI, Justin worked for 11 years as an attorney and landman at multiple operators in basins across the country. Formerly, Justin served as the Chief Legal Officer and Vice President of Land at Century Oil and Gas, LLC, a private equity backed Powder River Basin focused operator out of Houston, Texas. While at Century, Justin and fellow JAI co-founder Ryan Leachman, got their first introduction to Bitcoin mining as a way to mitigate flared gas on one of their wellsites in order to stay compliant with the Wyoming state regulations. This sparked his interest in mining Bitcoin on a large scale and led to the formation of JAI Energy.

During his career, Justin has successfully negotiated and closed on over $170 million worth of acquisitions and funding commitments from private equity groups or other private capital sources. Justin previously served as General Counsel and Vice President of Acquisitions and Divestitures at Sponte Resources; a Dallas based operator targeting production of natural gas in East Texas. Justin also spent time at Indigo Minerals and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation where he gained experience in everything from midstream and gathering contracts to complex acquisitions and divestitures.

Justin was born and raised in rural Missouri but has proudly been in Texas for the past 17 years with no plans to leave.
