Short Course

SC-08: Deep Learning in Geoscience Applications with Case Studies

Sponsored By the Aramco and (SEPM) Society for Sedimentary Geology

Monday, 26 August
8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

George R. Brown Convention Center, Level 3, Room 381A

This course will help attendees to jump start on applying computer vision/deep learning for characterizing thin sections, microCT, core samples, borehole images and outcrops, etc., with segmentation, object detection, classification, and property prediction, as well as image superresolution, inpainting, and reconstruction techniques.

We will use a github repository for the short course where some public data sets and codes will be made available during the course.
