The energy landscape is rapidly evolving, with the new generation of incoming geoscientists playing a critical role within it. This will require different sets of subsurface characterization skills from many disciplines. However, to be effective in addressing this challenge, it will require the perspectives from all geoscientists from many diverse backgrounds. Empirical studies of workplace dynamics have conclusively demonstrated that diverse teams are more productive, innovative, and add greater value than teams in which diversity is not prioritized. These results have led to broader industry recognition of the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the work environment. This panel of experts discusses their DEI successes while examining areas of the energy sector in need of DEI improvement. Please join in on the discussion around DEI, successful geoscience collaboration, and the future of energy.
