Dr. Antonios Vytiniotis is the Director of Consulting at Geocomp and has a Ph.D. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). With 17 years of experience, Dr. Vytiniotis has a wide range of experience in the field of geotechnical engineering including software development and coupled simulations. Dr. Vytiniotis in the past has also taught at MIT as a lecturer in the topics of advanced soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. He possesses extensive academic expertise in numerical analysis and significant practical experience in applying this knowledge to real-world problems. Antonios was worked on assessing sinkhole risk in multiple states and overseas.
He has worked on numerous projects in more than 20 states and multiple countries. Antonios is experienced in evaluating slope stability, performing mechanical and flow-through-porous media finite element analyses and soil-structure interaction using various software. Additionally, Dr. Vytiniotis has experience in data analysis, signal processing and GIS with software such as QGIS and R. His PhD research focused on developing tools within the finite element software Opensees, implementing a soil constitutive soil model, and using those tools to perform coupled, pore pressure, displacement dynamic simulations.
