Geoff Pettifer is a Technical Principal – Geophysics in SMEC, and current Chair of the SEG Near-Surface Technical Section Committee with 52+ years of specialized experience in over 300 projects in the practical application of near-surface geophysics to geotechnical, groundwater, mining, environmental, UXO, bore geophysical logging and condition assessment, resource assessment, salinity, and soil mapping projects.

In that time, he has worked on the application of geophysics to 5 pumped hydro-electrics schemes in the feasibility, design, construction, and operational phases,10 hydroelectric schemes, 32 major dams, 20 tailings dams, 12 tunnels, and 20 water pipelines.
