Jim Pfeiffer is a senior geophysicist with Collier Geophysics, LLC located in Lakewood, Colorado. Mr. Pfeiffer has over 27 years’ experience in project management including planning, design, implementation, and interpretation of geophysical surveys. He has broad expertise in high-resolution seismic methods including s-wave and p-wave reflection/refraction, tomography, active & passive source surface wave, borehole/crosshole seismic methods, seismic monitoring, and seismic CPT surveys applied to seismic hazard analysis, geotechnical, engineering, geothermal, mining, groundwater, environmental, and shallow oil and gas studies. In addition to seismic methods, Mr. Pfeiffer has wide-ranging experience with a variety of geophysical methods, including Ground Penetrating Radar, Electromagnetics, DC-Resistivity, Magnetics, Non-Destructive Testing of Infrastructure, and Gravity. He has considerable experience in designing and conducting geophysical surveys integrating multiple geophysical methods to enhance imaging capability and objective resolution, providing improved interpretations. Mr. Pfeiffer has designed and presented geophysical training workshops for multiple state DOTs and FHWA. Mr. Pfeiffer has over 15 professional publications, and 25 professional presentations. Mr. Pfeiffer has an MSc in geology, specializing in geophysics, and is a registered professional geophysicist in the State of California and a registered geoscientist in the State of Louisiana.
