Since the early 1990’s, Paul Bauman has directed geophysical water exploration programs in some of the most water-stressed locations on the planet including in Yemen, post-tsunami Aceh Province in Indonesia, refugee camps and conflict-affected areas in East Africa and Bangladesh, and drought affected areas of Southern Africa. Paul has a BScE in Geological Engineering from Princeton University, and an MSc in Earth Sciences from the University of Waterloo. He is the Principal Geophysicist at BGC Engineering in Calgary. Paul received SEG’s 2018 Inaugural Craig J. Beasley Award for Social Contribution, was the 2020/2021 CSEG Distinguished Lecturer, received the 2021 award for Applied Hydrogeology from the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH), and was the 2023 SEG Global Sustainability Lecturer.
