Rachel Paez is a senior Geoscience Advisor with ExxonMobil, currently responsible for ensuring technical quality in South American exploration and early development activity.

For over 22 years, working as a Geoscientist, Rachel has been involved in various projects across the globe within ExxonMobil’s companies spanning Exploration, Development and Production activities. Geoscience assignments have included Nigeria, Angola, US Gulf of Mexico, Malaysia, Australia, Guyana, Argentina, Brazil and Qatar. Global roles have centered on technical leadership and advisory; Technical Team lead for lines of business, supervisor, and senior advisor in mergers and acquisitions. Affiliate assignments have included over Doha, Qatar and New Orleans, LA, USA.

Over the years, Rachel has focused on how subsurface valuation approaches (particularly assigning risk and characterizing uncertainty) can improve business decisions. She is an expert in Geoscience Integration, Assessment, Subsurface Characterization, and portfolio management. Rachel is recognized internally and externally for her expertise in helping teams link subsurface understanding to a well-defined value proposition.
