Sebastian Cardona
After attending the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Medellin, Sebastian Cardona received a B.Sc. from the University of Texas at San Antonio (2012) and a M.Sc. in geology from The University of Texas at Austin (2015). Sebastian earned a Ph.D. in geology from Colorado School of Mines (2020) working in the SAnD Research Program. He then joined Equinor in Houston as an exploration geologist for 14 months. Sebastian has conducted and published research addressing the sedimentology of mass transport deposits using outcrop, core, and seismic data. He also participated in the IODP Expedition 372: Creeping Gas Hydrates Slides as shipboard sedimentologist investigating the interaction between submarine landslides and gas hydrate. Sebastian has an interest in deepwater processes and their deposits, especially submarine landslides and the ability to predict them.
