Steve has degrees in Physics, Geology, and Geophysics. He has worked around the world as an exploration and development geophysicist, published numerous articles, chaired several geoscience technical events, and taught many different technical courses. For Mitchell Energy he created the first seismic stratigraphic interpretation of the Fort Worth Basin and Muenster Arch. He was also part of the Barnett Shale team, which was recognized with the 2013 Spirit of ECC Award for their achievements in restoring American energy independence. Steve was awarded a patent for the first smart material actuated industrial clamp in 2021. He consults out of Houston, TX in exploration geophysics, smart material R&D, and structural health monitoring.
