Yuqian (Philomena) Gan is a PhD candidate at Jackson School of Geosciences, University of Texas at Austin, USA, supervised by Prof. Ron Steel and Dr. Cornel Olariu. Her research interest is in facies and architecture of deep-water slope channels, especially those along supply-dominant margins. While mainly working in Neuquén Basin, Argentina, she has field experiences across the US and Europe. Growing up in Ningbo and Shanghai, China, she gained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Earth Sciences in University of Oxford, where she investigated a variety of sedimentary rocks, focusing on deepwater environments and contourites. She enjoys writing and travelling in her free time.
