The energy industry has long been challenged by public perception. Past impacts on human health, the environment, and public policy have negatively influenced the current reputation and image of operators, despite improved social metrics and corporate transparency. Building a positive association with the “energy industry brand” is an ongoing effort that requires both social awareness and an attitude of continuous improvement. Those improvement efforts often include extensive community engagement campaigns, both online and in-person. This panel showcases various community engagement programs and strategies operators use to build community trust.
