Alicia Kahn
Alicia Kahn is a nannofossil biostratigrapher, working in the consulting division of Chevron for the past 18 years. She has worked largely in the Neogene and the Paleocene/Eocene in the GoM, West Africa, and Brazil doing both real time, rig site, and post drill analyses. She also has occasionally worked across the globe applying interdisciplinary biostratigraphic concepts to economic and ecological issues. With her industrial biostratigraphic work, Kahn has done numerous outreach activities to bring nannopaleontology to geologists and non-geologists alike in industry and academia. This includes board membership of AWG Lonestar and AAPGWN, where her particular passion lies in DEI and the expansion of opportunities for women in the geosciences. Prior to Chevron, she received her bachelor’s degree at Amherst College and master’s and doctorate at Rutgers University.
