Maria Tatanova-Malhaire
A Subject Matter Expert in 4D seismic interpretation, Maria brings 15 years of global experience at Shell to her role as Principal Geophysicist and Geophysical Technical Authority. She specializes in integrating time-lapse seismic data for complex Deepwater assets, currently focusing on projects in the Gulf of America. Her international expertise includes work on assets in Brazil, the North Sea, Oman, Russia, and Southeast Asia. Maria is passionate about applying novel acquisition and processing technologies to improve cost-competitiveness, operational efficiency, and data quality through the life cycle of a producing field. She was a major contributor in developing the processing and interpretation workflows for Shell’s first 4D Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) surveys and has strong expertise with streamer-to-OBN comparisons, P-cable, and DAS VSP surveys. She holds a PhD in Geophysics from Saint-Petersburg State University and is an active, long-time member of the SEG.
